Basic information on extending the validity period

Required particulars of submissions

In the notification of the intention to carry on a trade after the expiry of the validity period or, where relevant, the application for an amendment to the decision to grant a concession that was issued for a fixed period, the entrepreneur will indicate:

  • The company name, business name, or given name and surname
  • The identification number of the person
  • Date of birth
  • Birth registration number, if assigned
  • The trade(s) to which the extension of validity relates
  • The new validity period requested, and it will submit the relevant documents
Administrative fees
  • CZK 100 for the issue of an extract from the trade licensing register after the notified change has been made
  • CZK 500 for an amendment to the decision to grant a concession

The fee for the issue of an extract is charged only once even if the change relates to multiple trades. If multiple acts that are subject to a fee under this item are executed at the same time, the administrative authority will charge only one fee at the highest rate. The fee may be paid in cash at the seat of the municipal trade licensing office, by postal order or by bank transfer.

  • CZK 50 for the receipt of the submission by the contact point, if the notification of changes is submitted through a public administration contact point (the amount of the fee for the issue of an extract after the change has been made remains unchanged).
Time limits

For entrepreneurs, the Trade Licensing Act sets the time limit as follows: the entrepreneur must submit the notification or, where relevant, the application for an amendment to the decision to grant a concession before the expiry of the validity period of the trade authorisation.

The trade licensing office will process submissions without delay and, if the submission is free of defects, it will make an entry in the trade licensing register within the general statutory time limit of 5 working days.
