Basic information on the address for settlement of liabilities

Required particulars of submissions

The address for the settlement of liabilities can be established directly in the submission by which the entrepreneur notifies the termination of the last trade at an establishment, thus also terminating their business activities at the establishment. In such a case, the notification of termination of a trade will include not only the required particulars for this act, but the entrepreneur will also include the following:

  • The address at which the entrepreneur’s liabilities can be settled

When notifying the address for the settlement of liabilities or a change in such address separately, the entrepreneur will indicate the following in the submission:

  • The company name, business name, or given name and surname
  • The identification number of the person
  • The address (or location) of the establishment(s) to which the address for the settlement of liabilities relates
  • The address or, where relevant, the changed address for the settlement of liabilities
Administrative fees

There is no administrative fee for the notification of the address for the settlement of liabilities.

Time limits

For entrepreneurs, the Trade Licensing Act sets the time limit as follows: submissions in respect of the address for the settlement of liabilities are made no later than the date of termination of activities at the establishment, i.e. no later than the date on which the entrepreneur terminates their activities at the establishment. The entrepreneur must notify any changes in the address for the settlement of liabilities for a period of 4 years from the date of termination of activities at the establishment – since the law does not specify a deadline for notifying such changes, the entrepreneur must do so without delay after the change occurs.

The trade licensing office will process submissions without delay and, if the submission is free of defects, it will make an entry in the trade licensing register within the general statutory time limit of 5 working days.
